Holiday Wishes and a Few Reminders

Dr. Glen Newton Dr. Glen Newton,
North Central Regional Director

Happy Holidays to all ACFA North Central members!

The main purpose of this email is to wish you the best for the holiday season and the following year, but I also have requests and reminders.

First the requests:

  • Would any club like to host the 2010 North Central Region awards? I know that the bar has been set pretty high by Cat-N-Around this year, Coulee Region in 2008, and FKFI in 2007, but if you start planning soon, you’ll be able to host another memorable North Central awards banquet!
  • I’ve posted some new pictures on the ACFA North Central web site’s picture gallery (https://acfanorthcentralregion.org/gallery/NCgallery.htm). I hope you enjoy them, and I’d like to encourage you all to send pictures that you think would be of general interest to the North Central Region members. Note that this is not a “fun at shows” gallery, although the pictures there are all from shows. But if you have pictures of club meetings or outreach projects that you’d like to share, they would be appropriate for the picture gallery, too.

Reminders:

  • Class Act Cat Club’s new show, “Paw in the Mew Year,” is coming up January 2 and 3, and they have two different closing dates:

Mailed entries MUST be received by December 23rd, 2009
Eclerk closing will be December 27th, 2009, at 5:00pm SHARP!!

  • ACFA renewals are due by the end of the year, AND there are some specials on three-year memberships, cattery registrations, and pedigrees that expire at the end of December. Details are on the ACFA web site: http://www.acfacat.com/
  • 2009 ACFA balloting closes soon, so don’t miss the opportunity to have your vote counted and influence the future of ACFA.

Finally, for your holiday listening enjoyment, here’s some free Christmas music from the United States Air Force’s Airmen of Note, one of the best big bands in the world: http://www.airmenofnote.com/sounds/CoolYule/CoolYule.htm

Sincerely,
Glen Newton
